The Vaal Challenge '09 has sadly come to an end, below is a Thank You eMail from Peter Rossouw:
Hi All,
This mail just serves to thank all you guys who came and paddled.
I trust that you had a good time.
The weather was great, and thanks to Marinus De Wilde from the Dept. of Water Affairs, the water level
was just great, especially on day 2.
Thanks to the Hansa guys ,Mr Olebogeng Malotle and his team, you guys were great.
To Christo Horn and Michelle ( for all her efforts and labour) from GCU, for channelling the “prize money” sponsorship our way,
and to Neil and the paramedic guys for their help.
My financial “officer” Tony Phelp and Angela his P.A. for their untiring efforts in putting in hours and hours of work, you two were
Awesome.
To the JCC team, thanks for coming to the party once again, to help stage the 53rd annual Vaal Canoe Marathon. You “sweeps” did a great job as well.
To Jean du Plessis and Rob Band for the serious time they put in to getting the website “together” and “up and running”, thanks so much.
Thank you also to the “Water Police” division of the S.A.Police.For the first time, we had very little powerboat activity on both days.
Thanks so much to Ray and Lynne Lopes for giving the use of their venue at Eden Manor for free for the start of Day 2 .I hope you all enjoyed a great
Start venue. Also to the gang from Likkewaan Canoe Club, thanks for hosting the end of day 2, and our prize giving.
Lastly, my team from Crossroads Church, you continually amaze me at you willingness to serve the community, time and time again. They have been involved with the Vaal and the 2 Day Klip for about 4 years now, and always enjoy their time alongside the river. I have had the privilege of Pastoring Crossroads Church for just over 7 years now, and am always exited at their love for people and willingness to get their hands “dirty”.
Thanks especially to my P.A.,Shona, for her
help in just getting letters out and in helping to manage the admin burden.
Till Vaal 2010,
God bless you all,
Pete Rossouw.
Chairman JCC,Gauteng Marathon Convenor.
PS: If I have missed any folk out in thanking them, it is not intentional. |
