One of South Africa's Toughest River Marathons
brought to you by BSI Steel & WESSA

General Information:
1. The total distance of the race is 73.1km.
2. The race starts on Saturday 5 November 2011 at the "Vaal Dam Wall" at 09h00. The first day ending map is available by clicking here. Day two starts at "Eden Manor" at 08h00 and ends 37.3km downstream at "Likkewaan Canoe Club, Parys". The second day ending map is available by clicking here. Reverse order start.
3. Registration is at the start from 07h30.
4. All competitiors must report at the batch camps 30 minutes before the allotted time, before taking to the water. The K2s start first, then K1s. There will be a pre-race briefing before the race on both days.
5. Prize giving 13h00 at "Likkewaan Canoe Club" on day two.
6. Cash prizes for K2s only - must be present to collect prizes.
7. No official photographers available for the race.

Water Levels:
Day 1: 40 cumecs
Day 2: 60 cumecs

Entry Fees:
Seniors - R320 per paddler (Including a T-Shirt and Meal Vouchers)
Juniors - R220 per paddler (Including a T-Shirt and Meal Vouchers)

Prize Money:
R50 000 divided over every age category
- K2 Event
- A K3 category will be officially included

Event Clothing:
All entries will receive race clothing. In addition to this, clothing for seconds can be ordered online from the website on request, send your orders to: orders@vaalcanoemarathon.co.za

Late Registration Fees:
Seniors - R420 per paddler
Juniors - R320 per paddler
Entries close at 17h00 on Monday 31 October 2011. No entries will be accepted after Monday 31 October 2011. Seeding will be done in accordance with the national results. Batches will be available on the morning of the 4th of November 2011 (Friday).
